Don’t be fooled by high watts per channel specs listed by many other AV receivers on the market as many times the fine print will show that those power ratings only apply to just two channels driven. That may be fine for a stereo setup, but a home theater has a lot more than just two channels to drive.

With the MHT300, the power ratings are for all seven channels being driven. That means every 4 Ohm speaker will receive 150 Watts and every 8 Ohm speaker will receive 120 Watts of heart pounding McIntosh power to bring all your favorite movies and video content to life. Every explosion, every car chase, every high-speed flyby of a fighter jet or spaceship, every roar of the crowd after a game winning score will be faithfully reproduced by 120 – 150 Watts on every one of your speakers. With the MHT300, you’ll no longer have to wonder if each speaker is getting the full power listed on the box.

The MHT300 can also grow with your theater as its individual amplifier modules can be configured in many ways to suit your specific speaker configuration. If someday your home cinema expands beyond seven channels, additional external amplifiers can be connected to the MHT300 to power them via the Height 1 and Height 2 audio outputs. An external amplifier, such as the McIntosh MI254 4-Channel Amplifier, would be connected to these outputs to drive these additional speakers. This would effectively turn the MHT300 into a 7.2.4 channel AVR.

Even if you do not add more speakers to your home cinema, more power could be added. For example, if you decide you want more power for your front left and right speakers, you can add an external stereo amplifier to your system (such as the McIntosh MI502 amplifier) and connect it to the MHT300 by simply removing the jumper from the selected channel(s), then connecting the output on the MHT300 to the input on the stereo amplifier. Or you could connect a higher power mono amplifier to drive the center channel speaker. In these cases, the selected channel(s) would be driven by the more powerful external amplifier.

The MHT300 has 4 HDMI inputs and 1 HDMI output. Each HDMI port is HDCP 2.3 compliant and support 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz. The HDMI output features enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC) functionality. Audio Return Channel allows a compatible TV to send audio data to the audio video processor over the HDMI cable, eliminating the need for separate audio cables. eARC offers improved bandwidth so higher resolution audio formats such as DTS-HD Master Audio™, DTS:X®, Dolby TrueHD, and Dolby Atmos can be sent through the HDMI cable, allowing the MHT300 to deliver the best possible sound quality. Setup and configuration are easily performed via computer interface. To save time, your installer can pre-configure your unit before bringing it to your home and then simply load the configuration file at installation. Similarly, you or your integrator could backup your configuration file onto a computer or USB stick for safe keeping; then you could even experiment with different configurations to listen for better performance safe in the knowledge that you could reinstall the original setup. This newest version of our C22 Vacuum Tube Preamplifier – the Mk V – is the direct replacement to our highly regarded C70 Limited Edition 70th Anniversary Vacuum Tube Preamplifier, which commemorated our 70th Anniversary that took place in 2019. The new C22 Mk V is the latest McIntosh vacuum tube preamplifier to carry the cherished C22 model number. It has all the performance of the acclaimed C70 but with the hallowed C22 moniker and its signature glass and aluminum front panel design.

The C22 Mk V uses one 12AT7 and five 12AX7A vacuum tubes which can be seen through a glass panel located on the top of the preamp. Knobs and rocker switches operate all control functions while modern LED lights indicate input selection and volume level. The C22 Mk V has two balanced inputs, three unbalanced inputs, one Moving Coil and one Moving Magnet phono inputs, for a total of seven inputs. There are two pairs each of balanced and unbalanced output connections; the two outputs allow sending signals to two separate power amplifiers.

Bypassable bass and treble tone controls are located on the front panel and can be adjusted in 2dB increments via rotary knobs. Impedance and capacitance for the phono inputs can also be adjusted via separate rotary knobs. In addition to setting the listening level, the volume knob can also be used to adjust the relative volume balance between the left and right audio channels. The ¼” headphone jack is powered by our High Drive headphone amplifier and features our Headphone Crossfeed Director (HXD®) technology. HXD improves the sound localization for headphone listening by restoring the directionality component of the sound stage that's normally only heard from loudspeakers.

Our Power Control technology is included with four ports that can automatically turn other connected McIntosh components such as amplifiers, CD players or turntables, on and off. Data ports are also present and can control basic functions of connected McIntosh source components via the included remote control.

The C22 Mk V sits atop a stunning polished stainless steel chassis and features the timeless McIntosh illuminated logo, control knobs, and aluminum end caps. With 200 Watts per channel, 14 inputs and a high-performance AM/FM tuner, the MAC7200 Receiver is a music lover’s dream.

We’ve been making tuners since the 1950s and they are one of the hallmarks of McIntosh, with the groundbreaking MR78 FM Tuner from 1972 considered an all-time classic in the audio industry. The built-in AM/FM tuner in the MAC7200 comes from that same illustrious line of McIntosh tuners and will pick up your favorite radio stations with unparalleled clarity and a realism that is free from noise and distortion. Its advanced signal quality monitor can display the multipath and noise levels of the incoming RF signal to help fine tune antenna placement for optimal reception. Dedicated PRESET and TUNING knobs enable easy radio operation. The FM tuner includes Radio Data System (RDS) support, allowing it to display optional information sent by radio stations such as the station’s name and call letters as well as the name of the artist and song being played. It features 20 presets for each radio band as well as a remote AM antenna.

The 14 inputs are comprised of both analog and digital input types. For analog, there is 1 balanced and 5 unbalanced inputs plus 1 Moving Coil and 1 Moving Magnet input to connect turntables. For digital, there are 2 coaxial and 2 optical inputs, 1 USB and 1 proprietary MCT input (for use with our MCT450 SACD/CD Transport). All inputs can be given custom names for user-friendly system control and configuration. The digital inputs are contained in our DA1 Digital Audio Module; the DA1 can be replaced by future modules to easily keep the MAC7200 up to date with the latest digital audio technologies. At the heart of the DA1 is a powerful 8-channel, 32-bit Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) used in Quad Balanced mode. PCM signals up to 32-bit/384kHz can be played via the USB input, allowing for playback of high resolution audio up to DSD256 and DXD 384kHz levels. The coax and optical inputs support up to 24-bit/192kHz files.

Our striking Monogrammed Heatsinks™ are included and they not only make a visual statement, but they are also very efficient at dissipating heat – which is why they warrant bearing the McIntosh “Mc” logo. They are connected to advanced high current output transistors that eliminate warm-up time so the MAC7200 is ready to go from the moment you turn it on. Like all McIntosh products, the MP100 is packed with features designed specifically for the vinyl lover including: Moving Coil and Moving Magnet inputs; Moving Coil and Moving Magnet adjustable loading (6 settings each); balanced and unbalanced analog outputs; optical, coax and USB digital outputs; and a Mono switch for when playing mono records to decrease noise and play the signal correctly. For pure analog use, the digital outputs can be completely disabled and powered down.

There are many ways to integrate the MP100 into your audio system. If you’re new to vinyl and just building your system, it can become the main part of your setup. Or if you already have a system with an older preamp you don’t want to part with, the MP100 is an excellent way to add modern phono features. If you’ve got a home theater system and would like to add a turntable, the MP100 is an easy way to add full phono preamp capabilities without having to get a full-sized stereo preamp that would undoubtedly duplicate many of your home theater processor’s features.

While spinning vinyl on a turntable is a great and unique way to enjoy music, there’s no denying the convenience of having digital versions of the albums. When used with a properly configured conversion program, the MP100 can “rip” the records to a computer via USB to produce high quality digital files. The digital outputs are fixed at 24-bit/96kHz to capture the full dynamic range of a record while optimizing digital file size. If an album has a very loud section, the clipping indicator will alert you so you can lower the digital output in order to produce a distortion-free recording.

Compact in size at just 3” tall, it has many ageless McIntosh design cues. It shares the same 11.5” narrow chassis design as the MXA80 Integrated Audio System, MHA100 Headphone Amplifier and MB50 Streaming Audio Player to help build a cohesive system. The MA252 Integrated Amplifier is the first hybrid integrated amplifier from McIntosh. Taking retro design cues from the legendary McIntosh MC275 Vacuum Tube Amplifier, the MA252 combines the best of vacuum tube and solid state circuit design to create an amplifier that’s both visually and sonically stunning.

The preamplifier stage uses two 12AX7a and two 12AT7 vacuum tubes housed inside stylish protective cages; the output stage is a direct coupled solid state amplifier that delivers 100 Watts per channel into 8 Ohm speakers or 160 Watts per channel into 4 Ohm speakers. An all analog design, it comes with 2 unbalanced, 1 balanced and 1 Moving Magnet phono input for turntables?. All 4 inputs can be given user-friendly names in order to simplify user control. Bass and treble tone controls help fine tune your music to your personal preferences. A full range subwoofer output is included for use with a powered subwoofer to further enhance low frequencies.

The MA252 features our McIntosh Monogrammed Heatsinks™ which are connected to advanced high current output transistors. These transistors eliminate the typical amplifier warm-up time so that the MA252 is in peak operating condition from the moment it’s turned on. A powerful control microprocessor is used for smooth system operation, along with some of the latest audio-grade circuit components that deliver the best possible sound.

Thanks to its solid state output, the MA252 is our first product containing vacuum tubes to include our patented Power Guard® technology. Power Guard monitors the output signal for signs of overdriving and makes real time micro adjustments to the input signal to prevent harsh sounding clipping that could potentially damage your speakers. If Power Guard is activated, the 2 vacuum tubes connected to the affected audio channel(s) will flash an amber color; they will return to their normal green color when the clipping has stopped.

Other McIntosh technologies found in the MA252 include Sentry Monitor™, High Drive headphone amplifier and gold-plated speaker binding posts. At the heart of the C2800 lies methodically designed vacuum tube circuitry. Leveraging the latest designs to all but eliminate noise and distortion, the C2800 reduces them to minuscule levels. Its four vacuum tubes, or valves, deliver a listening experience that transcends expectations.

With its 9 analog and 7 digital inputs (16 total inputs), the C2800 will become the nucleus of your home audio system. There are 3 balanced and 4 unbalanced analog inputs, plus 2 phono inputs that can be configured for either Moving Coil or Moving Magnet phono cartridges to connect your turntable(s). And to get the best sound quality from the high definition audio on your SACD collection, the MCT input offers a secure, custom DSD connection when paired with our MCT series of SACD/CD Transports. The entire DA2 module is upgradeable and could be replaced by a future module should new digital technologies become available.

Innovative Outputs for Personalized Listening

Offering advanced connection flexibility, there are 3 stereo sets of variable balanced and unbalanced outputs to connect the C2800 to your power amplifier(s). All sets of outputs can be active simultaneously, and each can send the audio signal from the source component to 3 separate audio systems.

Bi-amping a single speaker system can be accomplished using the Main output and Output 1 and their built-in adjustable High Pass and Low Pass filters. In this configuration, the High Pass outputs could be connected to a vacuum tube amplifier, and the Low Pass outputs could be connected to a solid-state amplifier. Then the adjustable crossover would let you optimize the performance of your amplifiers to your speaker’s specifications and to your listening preferences. Output 1 offers trim level control, which allows two different amplifiers to be volume balanced when bi-amping.

Additionally, Output 2 can be configured as either mono or stereo to allow it to send audio signal to a stereo audio system in another room, to a single mono subwoofer, or to 2 separate stereo subwoofers.

The C2800 features the return of the Processor Loop, something not available on the last few generations of McIntosh preamplifiers. The Processor Loop allows you to insert an external signal processor (such as our MQ112 Environmental Equalizer or MEN220 Room Correction System), dynamic range expanders, or other devices without having to place it between the preamplifier and power amplifier(s). This is usually more convenient and can allow for better performance.

The Processor Loop is also the perfect place to connect an analog tape recorder, a high-end cassette deck, or a 3-head reel deck that allows you to record from a source component and hear the recording just seconds later so you can monitor your recordings.

Network Connected for Control and Updates

In addition to using the included remote control or the front panel controls, the C2800 can be connected to your network which will unlock control options offered through our complimentary Connect app (scheduled to be available April 2024). Designed for both Android and Apple devices, the Connect app can be used to control key functions of the C2800 including Volume control as well as Input and Output selection.

Select McIntosh source components that have a data cable connected to the C2800 will be partially controllable via the app's Source Control feature. With Source Control, users will be able to control many of the source unit's functions from the app, such as changing radio stations on a tuner, or playing a disc in a CD Player. Source Control will bring added convenience to setups that have a secondary system connected to one of the C2800's outputs, such as an outdoor system where you will no longer be forced to go inside to control its basic functionality.
